An industrial revolution, powered by water since 1584!
Discover how Aberdulais has been cutting edge in harnessing its 'Ice Age' lanscape and breathtaking waterfalls, to carry industry through the ages and into the future.

Since the very beginnings of the industrial revolution, many industries thrived here, from Britain's first copper works, to the bustling Victorian Tinworks, supplying tin all over the world. Now, working hand in hand with conservation, tourism is the industry that thrives – so Aberdulais is much more fun and far less dusty than it used to be!

Green and Great
Today Aberdulais prides itself on self sufficiency, supplying electricity with its underground turbine, and Europe's largest generating waterwheel, yet its remains are the oldest surviving to tell the tales of Britain's pioneering Tinplate past.

Old School House Tea-Room
In Victorian Times, the old school room fed the mind. Today it caters for body and soul. What was once a Children's school is now a delicious tea-room, serving traditional local produce for the whole family.

Exploration, Fun and Discovery all in One Place
Explore the ruins, discover the archaeology, try out the costumes and family activities. Then after enjoying a picnic above the waterfall, and seeing the giant waterwheel* turning, why not watch a film, or hit the gift shop for some retail therapy? Whatever you tastes in life, digging up the past has never been so much fun!
