Step outside and enjoy Swansea Prom this spring with some brilliant family-friendly activities.

The outdoor attractions along the prom are now open every weekend, switching to daily during school holidays, and there’s plenty to keep you entertained…

1: Seek adventure with swans and dragons

Who needs ‘Swallows and Amazons’ in the Lake District when adventure awaits you at Singleton Boating Lake with our very own racing swans and dragons?

It’s easy to see why the colourful pedalos are so popular with local families when you set off to explore the hidden corners of the lake in one. Who will be the quickest, the white swan, red dragon, or bright green car?

Check fares and opening times.

2: Let the train take the strain

Hop on board the Swansea Bay Rider, the 72-seater land train is the effortless way to explore Swansea Bay’s stunning stretch of sand and sea.

You’ll find several stops between Blackpill and Mumbles, making hoping on and off the Swansea Bay Rider a cinch.

Check fares and timetables.

Why not take the full journey and listen to our guided commentary as you enjoy the sights?

3: Make a splash Blackpill Lido

Swansea’s shallow water park, Blackpill Lido, is the perfect destination for young families.

Your little splashers can enjoy themselves in the shallow pool with its fun water features. There’s also a new play area, climbing rock, and picnic areas to keep them amused.

4: Go crazy for mini golf

Crazy golf is a fun but still challenging form of mini golf where players have to dodge miniature buildings and not bunkers to putt the ball in the hole.

It’s a game that’s finding new fans among today’s young people, you may sometimes find a course at a wedding reception these days, and Swansea is lucky to have not one but two outdoor courses for you to enjoy.

The 18-hole course at Singleton Boating Lake is open every weekend from 8 April until 4 September, daily during school holidays. Check fares and opening times.

Alternatively, head to Southend Gardens in Mumbles for a smaller course but just as much fun, that is close to a children’s play area and all the charming seaside village has to offer. Check fares and opening times.
