Hooray!!! It’s finally the summer holidays! And in the spirit of summer we’re celebrating by selecting 7 of our beautiful beaches for you to explore.
We have chosen 7 beaches, giving you the chance to experience a different beach every day for a whole week! From quiet, hidden gems, to family-friendly and activity-packed beaches, you’re sure to find your perfect beach getaway right here in Swansea Bay and you’ll soon be falling in love with some of the UK’s favourite coastline!
The picture-perfect landscapes (pack your camera!) and the various activities available make Swansea Bay a must for whatever type of adventure (this includes quiet, relaxing adventures!) you are looking for. Choose surfing in Caswell and Rhossili beach, or an afternoon of walking along the Gower Coast Path – we’ve got the sand, the sea, the cliffs, the coastline – just bring yourself!

Perfect for someone who is looking for an adventure, the Bay has an away-from-it-all feel and is surrounded by sand dunes, cliffs and salt marsh – great for explorers!
It’s all going on here – horse riding, rock climbing, abseiling and stand up paddle boarding; you’re never far from an exhilarating experience!
But hey, now the serious bit – Three Cliffs is beautiful but also has a wild side, it’s always best to check the tide tables before any activity, as there are strong currents in the Bay.
This is a dog-friendly beach meaning our furry friends are welcome all year.
Get active at Three Cliffs Bay with:
With 3 miles of golden sand and a lush green coastline, Rhossili Bay (has quite rightly!) made the top 3 for three years running in the TripAdvisor Travellers’ Choice awards. At the most westernmost point of the Gower Peninsula (which was itself, the first in the UK to be designated as an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty), Rhossili has more than its fair share of reasons to visit including the iconic Worms Head and some awesome views from the top of Rhossili Downs.
Like surfing? Love Rhossili Bay. Watersports are definitely on the menu, along with clifftop walks – and did I mention the jaw-dropping views!
And with three miles of sand to run around (all year with no restrictions) your four-legged bff will love it too!
Respect the waves – the tide can come in quickly here and there are strong currents, so you need to check the tide tables before you have an adventure on Worm’s Head or Burry Holms.
Get Active at Rhossili Bay with:
A short hop from the heart of the City Centre, this beach is perfect for a stroll along the Prom. With oodles of space and sand, it’s brilliant for water sports like stand up paddle boarding, kayaking, power kiting and volleyball.
Too energetic? Just unroll your towel and enjoy some quality time with your family.
At Blackpill Lido, there’s a safe, children’s pool to splash about in, a children’s play area and plenty of space for a picnic overlooking Mumbles Head – lovely!
Fancy a cappuccino? Itching for an ice-cream? You’re never far from a fantastic foodie experience along the Bay. For a brew with a view, 360 Café is just the place (it’s also the place to book your beach sports and stand-up paddle boarding too!). But for a bird’s eye view and a dining experience to remember, head up to (the very) top of the Meridian Tower and the Grape & Olive restaurant.
With our youngest visitors in mind, summer dog restrictions are in place along certain areas of the Bay (look out for the signs at beach access points).

Want to catch some waves? Or you could try coasteering, rockpooling with the kids, or simply relax with a picnic on the beach. Just around the corner from the City, Langland Bay has a, summery, seasidey feelgood factor that will definitely make you smile.
Treat yourself to some homemade ice-cream served at the nearby café, a must after an afternoon’s adventure exploring this beautiful stretch of golden sands and cliffs.
A real family friendly favourite, with lots of serious sand castle building, so our doggy pals are asked to visit one of our other beaches during the summer.

Get Active at Langland Bay with:
This beautiful stretch of golden sand offers a smorgasboard of beachy activities; including surfing, rock climbing, coasteering and even abseiling.
Perfect for a family day out with handy facilities nearby – so if you arrive without your bucket and spade – no worries! Caswell Bay features all the seaside essentials of glossy sand, surfable sea and a friendly and fun-filled atmosphere on a sunny summer’s day!
And it’s an award winner with both a Blue Flag and Seaside award. Easy to get to, with bus stop and car park nearby. Our furry friends are asked to visit one of our other fantastic beaches during the summer months.
Get Active at Caswell Bay with:
Port Eynon is a bustling Gower Village with buckets of seaside charm, nestled snuggly right up to the beach. So, great for a family day at the beach – easy to get to, easy to park or get to by bus, and with oodles of essential beach supplies within easy range of your flip-flops. Fancy stretching your legs? Then catch-up with the coastpath again or explore the ancient Gower salt-house along the Bay.
Port Eynon’s an award winner too, with both a Blue Flag and Seaside Award and the reassurance of a lifeguard on duty from May to September. Summer dog restrictions are in place along certain areas of the Bay (look out for the signs at beach access points).
Get Active at Port Eynon with:
It’s amazing to think that this beautiful stretch of wild coastline is so close to the City. Another award winner, Bracelet offers first-class rockpooling, so bring a bucket and a net for some underwater adventuring.
Nice to know – a lifeguard patrols the beach from May- September, making it a safe swimming option if you and the little ones fancy a dip in the sea!
But the family pet has to swim at one of our other brilliant beaches during the summer!
